Title: Resolving
Post by: cltrn81 on July 03, 2012, 03:04:15 PM
Ok opponent had a 1/2 {tarmogoyf} with 1 land in the GY.  I cast {shock} and target goyf.  Is the goyf a 2/3 before the spell resolves or will the 2 damage be able to kill it before my card enters the GY?

{Shock} deals it's damage "during" resolution and then Shock goes to the gy.  It is in the gy when the game state is checked and will contribute to the 'goyf's P/T.  It lives.

he's talking about archaeomancer. the trigger doesn't appear until after rites has resolved and gone to the grave. so rites is a valid target.

Right, because the {Archaeomancer} has an ETB trigger, so Rites must have finished resolving before their triggers get Stacked.
