I've always thought that Viashino were pretty cool looking, and when I first started playing MtG, I wanted to build a deck with nothing but Viashinos in it. I realize now that it probably wouldn't work, but hell, I like Viashinos :P
Anyone else have any crappy decks they want to build for no particular reason?
Hmm I can only think of persist/undying deck

Not with {river kelpie}
And rat deck...{INK-EYES, servant of oni} and more rat ninjas, like {okiba-gang shinobi}!!
I made a birds deck which alot of people would probably have never made but it's a very fun deck. I also made a deck with absolutely no win con and it's a group hug deck. My friends decide to try and kill each other first because I'm benefitting EVERYONE! Then I cast overrun. 😝
Try and make a deck where all cards have defender, and watch how long it would take your opponet to kill you.

There are decks like that and they do not wait they kill the opponent

Dude, don't even :P One of the guys I play with runs a defender from hell. Built around {Overgrown Battlement} and {Sprouting Phytohydra}. He'll {Pyrohemia} into a metric ass-tonne of Hydra tokens, then drop a {Fireball} for game
I have a defender deck too and it's all control and then add in all burn spells. It rips people apart bc they can't get past my {wall of denial}s
I think that defenders are seriously underrated. Yay {Wall of Fog}!
Land deck!!!
Donkey deck from unhinged
A Myr deck. Had a lot more money when fith dawn and all those came out and I have so many of those %%}*{ things lol.
Delver deck.
Never wins. People can smash delver so quick.
Mageblade is okay if you're smart. It's pretty easy to win if you play creatures quickly.

Never wins? Im not quite sure I can agree. It wins A LOT. Why do you think it was rumored to get banned along with snappy? It's consistently top 8 deck.

Snappy I understand. Delver is easily squashed.

From what I've read, it does very close to 50/50 in match ups in the current meta. I think it just shows up everywhere because the centerpieces are so cheap.

This and synergy is amazing.
I wanted to build a Wurm deck once. I also once thought that {Duskdale Wurm} was the best card ever...this was quite some time ago!
And by 50/50 I mean half the decks in the meta beat it, the other half get beat by it.
Saying delver gets smashed so easy is like saying {Llanowar elves} get smashed so easy.......well duh it is a 1/1 for 1 CMC.....except that 1 CMC delver flips into a 3/2 flyer on T2 ready to attack. That is pretty good for 1 CMC. Love delver or hate delver, you have to give him the props he deserves.
Look at Legacy decks....they call it "RUG Delver" not "RUG Tarmogoyf" or "RUG Scaveging Ooze"........the deck is named after a $.05 common instead of the $90 or $35 rare cuz delver is in fact the star player.
This has been said before, he's a 1 mana 1/1 that with no additional card played turns into a 3/2 flying beat stick that gets a jitte or some other blade and becomes a huge issue fast.
In standard I can see the decline because the biggest problem u/w delver has is a lot of creatures fast since they have no way to deal with it. WW is an excellent opponent for delver..so is r/g ramp.

problem with that is that it discludes all the decks that delver denies a place at all but would be good otherwise.

That it is, that it is.
Restoration angel is one of the biggest reasons delver has done well. Article talks about how it was probably the biggest impact card besides bonfire, screwing up combat, nonsense like usual.
Ive found that delver ha a hard time with burn, its nearly impossible to get it to stay on the table. Delver is probly one of the beat commons ever printed, imo.

it does have a hard time with rdw. for as good as RDW is, not too many people play it. It's because once it stumbles it never gets it's feet under it and literally falls flat on it's face. I'm speaking of consistency anyways.

Yeah i know what u mean. When i first started back into magic i made a pretty decent burn deck, playing an aggro deck got my opponet down to about 4-5 life. And next 5 turn topped deck lands. Never have played one since.
IT has the possibility to win in under 4 turns maybe 40-50% but when it takes you 5+ turns because your opponent played {timely reinforcements} your plan gets jacked.
How did this turn into a delver debate? :o lol

Someone made a comment how delver sucks and can't beat anything yet it's a consistent top 8 standard deck. Along with naya humans/pod.

I find it to be the same as any other deck, it has its strengths and weaknesses. Its up to the opponent to exploit those weaknesses.
I have both a Rat deck (mainly hand-denial) and a Wurm deck. My Wurms are a fairly fast casual deck and I typically get out at least one {Panglacial Wurm} by turn 4 or 5. I have gotten one out turn 3 though :)
This just made me pull out my... Alpha {Orcish Artillery} / {Circle of Protection: Red} deck.

Throw in {Pyrohemia} (says the backseat deckbuilder).
I have built rat decks, dwarves, spirits, shades and the like. What I recently built, and should be competitive, but isn't is a Standard Constructed R/G Werewolf deck. Every time, with few exceptions, it gets beaten savagely. For all the tribes in the Innistrad block, Wolves came out the weakest. Sad, since they are fun to play, and have some cool creatures/abilities. I still love the deck, and {Kessig Wolf Run} is awesome, but it never is used in the Werewolf deck that it was made for. This alone, is what has sidelined/killed the further usage of two-sided cards, with a few exceptions, such as {Delver Of Secrets}. What I want to know is what you all think?

The two sided were good but because werewolves all had the same condition to flip, it made it hard to choose whether to be content with your army you'd create by flipping them or play another werewolf. There are ways around it but still annoying.
They should have made different conditions for werewolves to flip. Just sayin.
I always seem to rely on {Moonmist} or {Full Moon's Rise} to get them to transform. {Immerwolf} also helps.
I always thought it unfair that werewolves had a ridiculous CMC for their vanilla side and they were not gauranteed to ever flip or stay flipped. Yet Delver is a 1 CMC who flips so easy and has no condition to flip back????

Exactly!
I play werewolves and its so unfair when I get killed by turn 1 delver flip turn 2 manaleak my burn spell and then kill me and win.
Which is why {Daybreak Ranger} was invented.
I had a {relentless rats} EDH deck once. I used {reaper king} as my general and had {conspiracy} to turn them into scarecrows as well as rats. I would end up dumping all my rats from hand and deck while {reaper king} was out and destroy all there perments then attack next turn for alot of damage from my rats. It was both fun and annoying.
