Ok can you cast instants or use abilities in the middle of the blocking step.
Example: I am being attacked by 2 creatures. I have {wall of omens} and a {mimic vat} with a {flickerwisp} exiled with the vat. Can I assign the wall to block one creature then use the vat to bring in a flickerwisp token which blinks out my wall.....then go ahead and assign the flickerwisp token to block the second creature?
I think all blocking has to be declared at the same time. So I would say no

That's what I thought too.....just can't find the rule to back it up
The only time a token would work is for {Mooreland Haunt} I think so anyways. Or instants like {Midnight Haunting}

On I think it can work but the wall cannot be flickered. I think you would have to flicker the {flicker wisp} itself.
Its after attackers are declared and after blockers can u use fast effects. Ruling.....no idea.
No you can't do that once blockers are declared both players have a chance for fast effects before you move on to combat damage. You could use mimic vat after attackers are declared exile the attacker you were gonna block with the wall then use the token on the other attacker almost the same thing
509.1. First, the defending player declares blockers. This turn-based action doesn't use the stack. To declare blockers, the defending player follows the steps below, in order. If at any point during the declaration of blockers, the defending player is unable to comply with any of the steps listed below, the declaration is illegal; the game returns to the moment before the declaration (see rule 717, "Handling Illegal Actions").

I read this rule but what about it means that you cannot use abilities or cast spells? Is it the part about not using the stack?
Yes. It means that it all blockers are assigned at once, and once they're assigned they can't be reassigned.
Thx, I just like to understand the rules with 100% accuracy instead of just an "I think so". :)
