Title: Geist angel
Post by: Richardalcala on June 27, 2012, 12:03:37 AM
Does {Geist of saint Taft} angel stay with {sundial of the infinite}? I say no but some guy tried to do it to me. Cause that would mean he ended the turn before the end of comabat.

Damage is assign during damage assignment step. So as soon as the damage is dealt the sundial can be activated.

After the damage dealing phase is done, the ever-so-brief "end of combat" phase begins. The damage is dealt by this point, and it is now that St Traft's exile trigger is put on the stack. If the sundial is used now, while the exile trigger is on the stack, the stack gets exiled letting the angel token stay in play, and the turn ends.

This

It is important to use it while the trigger is on the stack or it will just trigger at the next end of combat step.......even if that is your opponents.

The same goes for {glimmerpoint stag}.......say you exile an opponents permanent with the stag.  You have to use the dial at the begin of the end step when the return trigger goes on the stack if you want the perm to be gone forever.  The reason I say that is ppl try to exile with the stag then use the dial before the actual end step begins like after combat to keep their Geist angel token.....if it is done this way the exiled permanent will still return on the next end step.

As with comedy, with {Sundial of the Infinite Combos}, timing is everything!   8)

That is what I call the dial too.  That is why I named my casual deck "Venser the Infinite" cuz between him and the dial.....there is an unlimited amount of possibilities.
