Nope. Emperion prevents you from paying any amount of life over zero, meaning you can't pay the one life to mill yourself. Elderscale Wurm from M13 would be better, since he locks your life but allows you to "take damage"/whatever

Just as long as they don't kill your squishy maniac before you draw. Protect him, and probably have an instant draw spell too.
