Title: Push notifications!
Post by: Thattallguy on December 02, 2011, 10:09:59 PM
A lot of apps use push notifications (appears like a text message on your phone) to notify you of whatever it is you want it to notify you about. Take for example fox news or msnbc apps always send me a push notification when there is major breaking news. Also my espn app is set to notify me when my favorite sports teams are playing and the score and what quarter/period the said game is in. It would be nice if when I post something here in the forum and then someone else posts in that thread the app would send me a push notification to let me know. Then when I unlock my phone the app opens automatically and takes me right to the thread and new post. The open automatically part would only happen if I unlocked the phone immediately if say I wait to unlock it for more than a min or so then it won't take me into the app. This could be a nice feature.

Thattallguy wouldn't having fox news and msnbc sending notifications just cancel each other out?  Msnbc would say one thing and fox would spin it and say something different :)

No but one is usually faster than the other.
