Title: Choose a color
Post by: Validan on December 02, 2011, 08:10:18 AM
So crazy question, say I play a card that allows me to take control of my opponents turn, I see in their hand that they have a card like {adaptive automaton}. Can I then choose a non basic  land color for the choice if I play it such as Purple or orange? So that the cards effect would never really work?
Don't mind me I just woke up and was hit with the thought lol just curious

{adaptive automaton} states to chose a creature type and yes you could just play it and choose goblins or something else if they are running say a vampire deck with it

Yeah, whenever the game asks you to make a choice, it has to be a legal choice in the game. You can't choose grey or brown for colors and you can't choose creature types that don't exist in the game. You can always pick something obscure like sheep, goat, frog, sand, or uncle. :)

Edit: disregard those last two, they were fixed during the "Great Creature Type Clean Up".

Before the creature type update, {Uncle Istivan} had the uncle type. Check out the old wording.
