Title: Vigilance Manadork
Post by: Desolatus on June 22, 2012, 02:53:11 AM
If I have a {Moonscarred Werewolf} in play, can I attack with it and before damage is dealt, tap to produce mana and still be doing damage? It's revolving around pumping my {Wolf Run}. I want to attack and then tap to pump something up with Moonscarred's mana.

Yes, vigilance allows you to declare an attack without tapping the creature. Once you declared an attack, it is already assigned to happen. You may tap the mana-werewolf anytime during combat for its ability (after attackers are assigned, before/during/after blockers are assigned [this being the latest you want to use the mana for say Kessig Wolf Run]).

An attacking creature will still be attacking regardless of whether it is tapped or not.  Once you declare it as an attacker it stays that way unless it leaves the BF or an effect like {Maze of Ith}, or {Regeneration} specifically says to remove it.  Same goes for blocking.
