Title: Funny story
Post by: Sagemaster on June 21, 2012, 08:16:42 PM
So one of my teachers used to play magic and a few years back some new guy came for fnm and he had his whole deck sleeved in some nice sleeves and so they started playing their first match. The day before he came to the shop and got a ton of tokens since the shop keeper gives them for free. They guy won the roll and then laid out his hand playing a ton of tokens thinking they were creatures. He was then told that his cards weren't a deck and that that wasn't how tokens worked...he left after that 😂😂😂

I would have lol'd hard.

This one guy at my fnm had no sleeves on his deck except for one card. Because it had two sides.

I lol'd and told him he cant just have one sleeve in the deck.

Oh that poor guy. I hope he was corrected gently.
I once played a guy who accused me of cheating when I went to mulligan. I indulged him, won the fame and directed him to the basic rules pamphlets.

I once played a game where the guy decided to go first, didn't draw of course. But when it was my turn, I began to draw a card and he screamed out "shenanigans!!! First turn you never draw!!!!" I looked at him for a second and just continued with my turn. He started freaking out and hollering about how I was cheating.

I was taught that if you draw before you untap anything (Untap Upkeep Draw all happens together on some kitchen tables) you cannot Untap and have to wait until next turn. I later learned this was wrong but it helped me slow down and pace myself.

There was this one kid at a tournament I go to with like 8 different kinds of sleeves on his cards, and some still ha price tags on the back. It is a real casual tournament so we told him to not do it again, but let him play. He was really bad and lost to everyone, but after a little bit he make a joke about having 16 {Bump in the Nights} in his deck and everybody just stares him down...
