Title: Infect Question
Post by: Jdogtoocool on June 17, 2012, 09:26:08 PM
So what if you have {phyrexian unlife} in play and {melira, sylvok outcast} also in play at the same time?

You don't get infect and you can't get less than zero life. Essentially your opponent has to destroy one to win

Your life can still go sub-zero, you just won't die from it.

They can still mill you. 😜

When you have 0 life they deal infect but can't cause of melira so how does that work?

Remember can't trumps can. So you can't get infect counters.

The damage comes at you as if it were infect, and tries to add poison counters. Melira says 'Nope!' and those counters don't take hold.

There are other ways for your life to keep dropping though, 'loss of life' will still drop it farther under 0 I think since it is not damage.  And whatever came at you while you were above 0 will all be regular damage, dropping you negative below 0. But with Unlife on you, you won't care until you get slapped with a {naturalize}.

Correct. Loss of life bypasses Unlife. You can actually use it to your advantage and go to -be life and boost {Death's Shadow}.
