Title: Natural End Question

Ok so say my opponent uses {natural end} on my {Phyrexian metamorph} and in response I {cloud shift} does my opponent still gain the 3 life?

Metamorph didn't die...So natural end didn't have a target and fizzled and doesn't resolve
