Title: Combat Damage
Post by: King rabid rabbit on November 27, 2011, 11:28:46 PM
Well you said keep them coming so I will. Ok, say I attack with a creature with power 2 and defense 2, and my creature gets blocked by a 3/3, is my damage In -1-1 counters until end of turn? If so, that would make the 3/3 a 1/1 until end of turn, so could I use a {lightning bolt} and kill the 3/3? (I don't know how to explain this. I hope It sense :)

You are right, except the damage is not in counters. A 3/3 beast blocking a 2/2 kinght will kill the knight, but the beast will then be a 3/1 until end of turn (when he recovers). So you could then politely give him a lightning bolt and he would die.

Well, if we want to get technical (and I always do! ;) ) the beast is still a 3/3 with two points of damage marked on it.  This is important for things that care about toughness, like {Abattoir Ghoul}.

No prob.  But you could just kill the 3/3 with the {Lightning Bolt} in the first place.    ;)
Also, you may be thinking of a creature with the infect ability.  If so, then it will deal damage by putting on that many -1/-1 counters.  And those don't go away at the end of the turn.
