What happens when a {avatar of woe} and a {Intrepid hero} target each other with their abilities which creature does? Is it a question of timing or do they both die?
If one was in response to the other, then they would kill each other, yes.
Ok there isn't a problem that when one resolves the other is not there anymore do it can't respond? Under what rules would this be under ? I was trying to find it in the rules section but I couldn't
I'll find the rule in a sec.
But, basically, once an ability is put on the stack, destroying whatever created the ability does not remove it from the stack.
Let's say you activate your {Avatar of Woe} targeting their {Intrepid Hero}. While the ability is on the stack, they have a chance to respond before it resolves. They can respond but activating the hero's ability and placing it on the stack on top of the Woe's ability. Then, unless anyone does anything else the abilities will resolve "first in, last out". The hero's ability was last so it would resolve, destroying the Woe. Then the Woe's ability would destroy the hero.
All good?
Ok thanks
Comp Rules:
112.3b Activated abilities have a cost and an effect. They are written as ―[Cost]: [Effect.]
[Activation instructions (if any).]‖ A player may activate such an ability whenever he or she has
priority. Doing so puts it on the stack, where it remains until it‘s countered, it resolves, or it
otherwise leaves the stack. See rule 602, ―Activating Activated Abilities.‖
Now, obviously you can't activate the ability after the creature dies, but you will get a chance to use it before it dies.
Perfect thanks :)
