Title: Top lock and drop it
Post by: Desolatus on June 05, 2012, 12:46:53 PM
First of all, I love this app, so please don't think I'm complaining. But would it be possible to make an enabled lock the stops the app from shifting in all four directions? I read and type on my side quite a bit, and every time I lower my arms to a comfortable position, the screed changes from horizontal to vertical again. Any sort of lock would be awesome.

Turn off "horizon mode" would be handy.

Wow. I've spent the last 3 days working on making the landscape mode work in all screens of the app, and you tell me this? :D

You should already have the lock as part of your iOS. Double click the home button (the hardware one), swipe left (the opposite direction) and you'll see the lock and iTunes controls. You know where to buy me a beer, don't you? ;)

Hmm. Actually, that only seem to work to lock the portrait mode. Oh well, no beer for me. I guess I'll have some Legalities instead :P

I want it to work, yeah.  I just want to turn it off when I'm doing card searches on the couch or something.

There is a built-in lock, as Piotr said. You can set it to be on the mute button on iPhone/iPad, and then it is very easy. It locks any way you want, you just put in the horizontal/vertical position as you wish, lock it, and it never turns again until you unlock

that is true or you can go into setting and change it there or the double home button tap swipe 2 left position as desired and lock

Soft lock on iPhone/iPod only locks to Portrait. Hardware lock is normally used for Mute and is not present at all on iPod.

Ah. Well, I'm using an iPod, so that makes things more difficult.

Jailbreak makes thing different for the portrait only soft lock on iPods/iPhones ;)
Also it makes you able to configure any command to do it(you could set the home button thrice press for an example). That might replace the hardware lock switch. And you can set the switch to lock even without jailbreak on iPads and iPhones
