Title: Card Use
Post by: Coffee Vampire on June 04, 2012, 01:02:50 PM
For a card such as {Swift Silence}, when would you use it? Don't people just cast one spell at a time and if you let it go it can't be countered anymore?

Now that I think about it more, I guess you could use it after someone {Mana Leak}s your mana leak...but there probably won't even be enough mana to cast the swift silence after all that. :p Am I missing something with this card?

I could see it's main use in a multiplayer commander game where your sitting on it's mana cost watching everyone play a bunch of spells then going, "nope {swift silence} mwuhahahaha 

{Swift Silence} vs Storm.

Or splice onto arcane

i was under the belief that splice onto arcane only made the base spell gain an additional effect, not the splice spell making a copy that goes onto the stack.

You only need one Counterspell.

You can also use it after some stacking over spells. For example, you attack with a 2/1, they use an {arc trail}, and you use {giant growth} before it resolves, and he casts another arc trail and you a {mutagenic growth}. They {counterspell} it and finally, after all this, you play the {swift silence}, getting  to cancel all the damage to you, all your growths and drawing 4 cards

Couldn't cast arc traill during combat let alone on top of other spells on the stack replace it with shocks and your good to go

note colors and amount of mana used.

Possibly good for a {reverberated} {goblin grenade}
Or any of the other stacking agro combos out there.
