Does {Roaring Slagwurm} ability cause equipment to tap?

Yes. Though tapping them doesn't really do anything except count for {Burden of Greed} and {Toil to Renown}.
On the contrary, a really good combo with this creature would be {dichtomancy}. Tap artifacts and possibly some creatures, even the playing field.
So if it tapped the equipment that is on a defending creature, how would that play out?
Tapping equipment changes nothing.
