Should I get a booster box of avaycn restored or wait till July and get a box of m13?
Avacyn. Seems like a very solid investment moving forward.
It depends on what you have and like. If you like avacyn like I do, buy a box! If you like core, wait for core- just keep in mind that 90% of m13 is going to be reprints, so if you have a big collection, you're less likely to get new goodies from m13.

Reprints of better cards from older sets, mind you.

AVR has a lot of money cards
I second this notion.
(I have crap luck with pulling from avr thus far😡)
If you don't have many "fundamental" cards, M13 would be good.
I'm just getting back into magic after a few years out so I'm trying to decide what to do

I would actually do innastrad.
Seriously save some money, buy play sets of common and uncommon then buy your rares and mythics in singles or from boosters.
I ended up quite disappointed after a booster box of avr. Had better luck from winnings and my limited boosters.
Although if it's still on, if you buy a booster box of avr you get a promo {silver blade paladin}
I've had nice pulls from my few AVR booster boxes personally, but innistrad has a lot of good cards too, but my luck with Innistrad boosters was pale in comparison. If you want a good buy in for your money with Standard cards, buying uncommon/common playsets on the cheap then buying your rares and mythics to augment is always a good way to go too.
I'm happy M13 is returning some solid cards, I'm keepi g fingers crossed for Baneslayer Angel to come back to Standard too (wishful thinking lol). Overall I find Core set boosters to be lacking in the excitement factor over expansion sets personally - especially if you still have your collection from before it may be more worth it to focus on the current block since it'll be a little while til it rotates.
That's why I was leaning towards avy cause I know core sets rotate out every year. I'll prob just continue to buy random boosters. Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it
Get a set of 4x commons/uncommons of a set on eBay for $25 and buy the rares.
Magic doesn't have to be a money waster.
