Ok dogies soul bound work? I'm kinda outa the loop and quite playing for a while so any help on this would be great thanks.

Look at the rules part of this app. Then look up soul bound. It will tell you everything you need to know.

Soulbond is apparently a nightmare for judges, there is a lot of confusing surrounding certain ({Elgaud Shieldmate}) creatures.

like whether you could doom blade a bonding (not bonded) shieldmate

The important thing to remember is that bonding uses Le Stack, like so many other things and can be responded to.
