Title: Grand abolisher
Post by: Drbusta50 on November 22, 2011, 07:16:51 AM
It's probably a stupid question but if I play Grand abolisher and it's ability reads during ur turn opponents cannot cast anyspells or activate abities, can an opponent cast counterspell right as bring out grand abolisher and but it in the graveyard.  My opponent said it goes on the stack. Is this a true statement?

Well, if he did the {Counterspell} as you casted the {Grand Abolisher}, the answer is  yes....since the effect of the creature only starts working as it hit the battlefield, the Counter would prevent it from entering in the first place so the ability is not triggered at all.
