Title: An interesting take on pod
Post by: Agrajagzz9 on May 27, 2012, 07:08:26 PM
Just throwing this out there because it sounds like and interesting deck idea and am too lazy to do it myself

So it's a basic naya pod base with typical inclusions like blade splicer and birds and pilgrims and huntsmaster but what is interesting is is you keep, for the most part, only humans in the deck. Geist honored monk, zealous conscripts maybe bladehold and the pod all the way up to , not elesh norn, but angel of glories rise!!! Boom!!! All ur previously prodded humans are back with a vengeance throw in some mayor of avebrooks and u have a really fun next turn. Then after ur angel has had its use, pod for avecyn!!!!

Sounds cool, this is the reason I love pod so much, it's so versatile

You can pod zombies, pod vampires, pod whatever

I am really excited by this idea an the best part is that it is so in expected. People will be holding the Jill spell for elesh and won't be expecting a replacement. Also i just realized one u pod in for angel, if have conscripts in ur grave, u can target pod and untap it and then immediately pod angel for avecyn. Now they are really screwed

Pod has a few enemies right now though like {demon hunter} {angel of jubilation} and {sigarda}

Well first off name one deck which runs even a single angel of jubilation, second sigarda doesn't affect me at all, and third the third card u named doesn't link to anything relevant.

Well a lot of players are incorporating a lot of the new avacyn restored stuff and angel of jubilation is seeing a lot of use in human angel decks, control decks, and since mostly everyone at my card shop use birthing pod most of the other players sideboard it. Sigarda cancels out my phyrexian obliterator so that's another one, he proof flying by the way. And last but not least {fiend hunter} is just a pain almost everyone running white uses it

What's the creature that deals damage for each human on the field? Cause that'd be pretty awesome in there too

I've started to see some mono white angel/human decks w {Angel of Jubilation} but the decks have trouble w/o mana ramp. The ones that throw in green usually drop the Jubilation b/c of the triple white casting cost. I'd say biggest concerns would be {Torpor Orb} or {Stony Silence}, but they aren't anything a little {Revoke Existence} cantclear up. Cool idea.

Yeah I've never heard of that torpor orb, now that's a real menace to birthing pods. Gonna go get some now :)

That would be amazing with your idea! So much direct damage...
