Title: Trample & Negate
Post by: BadLuckIrish on May 25, 2012, 06:23:02 PM
My friend has a scheme card that negates 1 damage from a source. So how does combine with trample? Here is what i think just want to double check.

5/5 trample attacks. 2/2 with an ability negate 1 damage from a source. I spend enough power to kill it (2) and hit them for 3. Then he lives cause of his ability.

So could i instead assign 3 damage to said 2/2 to kill it taking in account for its ability?

Since I don't know if Schemes can be linked:

{Nothing Can Stop Me Now} (0)
Ongoing Scheme

(An ongoing scheme remains face up until it's abandoned.)

If a source an opponent controls would deal damage to you, prevent 1 of that damage.

At the beginning of each end step, if you've been dealt 5 or more damage this turn, abandon this scheme.

This scheme only prevents damage to him, not to his bear ('bear' being the term for a generic 2/2).

However, if you want, you can decide to put all 5 damage on the bear and none to him.  You just need a minimum of 2.
