Ok so iv got a question. How do you tell the difference between an alpha, beta, and unlimited card. Well, I know that alpha cards have a different back design or something, but how do you tell between beta and unlimited
I've always known the number of cards in each set and so I look at the card number on the bottom.
Plus the text.
Isn't Beta black bordered and Unlimited white bordered?

Yes. And Alpha's corners are more square than other cards (hence why you can't play Alpha in licensed events.

Alpha and beta don't have that number on the card.
I always have a hard time between Unlimited and Revised.

Are you thinking of what I'm thinking?
The set number? Ie: 12/126
I haven't had many alpha but I've bought beta and revised pretty often back in the day.
I vividly remember using the card number in the ante.
They didn't start printing that information on the cards until after Revised. See the different printings of the {Forest}.
I must have been looking at random numbers then. Rofl.
I'm pretty sure 4th edition is when they started putting more than just ill by: at the bottom of the card. Revised and unlimited looked pretty much the same, but unlimited had way cooler stuff. Beta was black bordered, and alpha had much more rounded corners.

Were they more round or less round? I can't remember. :-\
Don't feel bad bj, it's been quite a while.
Idk if you played in 93, but I was pretty darn close and remember hardly anything.
Certain cards aren't printed Alpha, the wording on Alpha cards is different. Revised has largely different wording then Alpha and Beta. The dual lands are examples.
Alphas are shaped differently. The printing is different too.
Also, didn't they get rid of ante in unlimited or was it revised? I can never remember.
I think this is all you need:

Eww abugames.
The formatting of the text is different. Check the different versions of {Animate Dead} for a great example. Mine is 3rd edition. :)
Thx guys
We're you the one whom bought the alpha/beta/unlimited boxes off eBay for 4g's yesterday? First thought that came to mind, lol. Unlimited have no copyright date and have double inner borders and are a little darker contrast overall than revised -- also alpha corners have more dramatic corner die cuts than other sets, an alpha an beta also have no copyright dates.

Revised doesn't have a date either. They do have tap symbols instead of the word tap in Unlimited.
Yeah, thanks for the assist, father duties cut the post short lol!
