Title: Primal surge
Post by: Jake, Fart Sculptor on May 23, 2012, 02:12:49 AM
So I think I'll make a {primal surge} deck. Sounds like it can be really great. Any suggestions? I'm trying to go standard. I can either do the {craterhoof behemoth} stomp win, or the {laboratory maniac} + {abundant growth} win. I just need to guarantee that I can pull the primal surge.

I made a mono green deck with primal surge and did surprisingly well on cockitrice given the fact that it was only creatures garruks and 2 primal surges. It was really fun to play and I would have built it if I had the funds for it

If you are going to do it, make sure around 10% or less of your deck is not a permanent. You play that and you are almost garrunteed a whole lot of awesomeness hitting the battlefield.
Maybe even just 4 of that card?
Ramp to 10, dump a heap.

I was thinking of a B/G ramp deck with 4 {liliana vess} as the tutor and 1 {primal surge} with the rest of the deck as permanents and some permanent like {Urabrask the hidden} or {fires of yavimaya} to give all your creatures haste. But this is more of a casual deck idea.

unless he goes for the laboratory maniac and abundant growth win.
