Title: Opinions in Delver
Post by: Mikemocapaldi1 on May 20, 2012, 07:33:36 PM
I personally think that Delver is a card that way too many decks abuse. I think that if there is a mirror match in the finals of the pro tour (dark ascension) and it is based around something that something should be banned

Delver I think will be banned pretty soon. It is really overpowered. The problem is that new sets get more powerful so players start to expect that. If wizards prints a weaker set, then the n00bs will quit because they can't figure out how to use the cards. Wizards is stuck and need to find a way out without losing profit.

Agree. It would be embarrassin for WOTC to ban another coomon in modern formats

Delver isn't overpowered though. By all accounts then {Elite Inquisitor} is overpowered, first strike and vigilance? {Revenge of the Hunted} is OP too because it can hose Delver.

Delver isn't immune to removal, he doesn't have hexproof, he doesn't have any abilities other then flying.

Delver is a very powerful card, ban worthy? I don't see it. How many decks even really run Delver?

The reason delver is so powerful is because it is fast. Also, elite inquisitor doesn't have protection from removal and also doesn't have flying.

There are some dd spells that will get rid of them

No one denies that he's fast, but you can get rid of him, I just don't think he's ban worthy considering not nearly everyone runs him. Once the Swords rotate out he'll just be another creature. Spirits trouble me WAY more, they have hexproof and are practically impossible to interact with. Give {Geist of Saint Traft} a {Spirit Mantle} and a {Runechanter's Pike}.

Best answer for delver. I think.

{Cavern of Souls} is the answer to Delver. Why mess around with a 3/2 when your opponents are dropping 6/6s that can't be countered?
