I am putting together a rat deck. So far I have 22 relentless rats and 4 thrumming stones. Any ideas for anything else I could use in this deck that would be beneficial. I don't want to rely solely on the rats.
{Relentless Rats}
{Thrumming Stone}
Don't forget to add curly brackets to create links.
I think the biggest threat to this deck is mass removal. One {Day of Judgment} can really ruin your day. How about a {Patriarch's Bidding}?
Maybe mana accel like {Dark Rituals}.
22 {relentless rats}
4 {thrumming stone}
This is what I have so far. Open to ideas suggestions. Really want this deck to be fun yet competitive.
Maybe a {No Mercy} to protect you. However the biggest issue i see is flying creatures.
Throw in some spot removal. {Doom Blade}s, {Go for the Throat}s, {Innocent Blood}s. Some {Ghost Quarter} to deal with {Kessig's Wolf Run}.
I have a deck based on {Relentless Rats} that I really have to get around to uploading!!!
Notable cards are {Swarm of Rats}, {Pestilence Rats}, {Typhoid Rats} and the Lord of my deck (and one of my fav cards), {Marrow-Gnawer}. For other cool rat creatures, check out the Kamigawa block.
When you get a lot of rats with {Marrow-Gnawer}, an {Akroma's Memorial} would be so funny xDD, but I think that you have a few possibilities to do this in a seriously match.
--------------------------
{Nighteyes the Desercrator} would be good with control cards like {Doom Blade} or {Thoughtseize}.
Also, some "finish" spells like {Nocturnal Raid} can help you to strike a lethal hit. But if ou prefer you can use enchants to increase the power of your rats ({Bad Moon} for example). And you need something in sideboard vs white control decks with {wrath of god} and that kind of spells, but mono black I don't know :S
EDIT: The link of Nezumi Graverobber don't works good, search it in the DB by name.
EDIT2: Fixed changing by Nighteyes the Desercrator.
Splash green with {doubling chant} and {overrun}

Splash green with {doubling chant} and {overrun}
{Doubling Chant} would be great here, since you could cast it with 6 {Relentless Rats} on the table and go get another 6. ;D
I wouldn't recommend {Overrun} simply because it's 2GGG and slashing to get three green mana in a Black deck just isn't worth it. Besides, if you nail your {Thrumming Stone} you'll have a hoard of enormous rats anyway.
A splash for the chant is worth it anyway
With green in the deck you can include some {Strength in Numbers} and put it on unblocked rat to strike the final hit (or blocked if u want kill some creature also it gives trample).
And add a {Bloodbond March}, of course xDD
Mono black full rats you can add a {Desperate Research}.
I like {beastmaster's acension} better
4 acension on the field and u hit with 10 rentless, they'll all be 31/31. Theyll all cost 3. Very funny
{eldrazi monument} ooks lot of fun
{Aether Vial} and leave it with 3 charges (this is a free rat each turn).
Do you have any mana acceleration? {Dark Rituals}, {Cabal Rituals}, {Cabal Coffers}, land search, things like that.
Land search: He doesnt say yet that he will go to add green color in the deck, and {dark ritual}s :S I don't see them in this decl, but cabals (if he will go to be mono black) it's a really good idea.
I think that in this deck are better continuously mana acelerators like artifacts or creatures (permanents), don't u think too?
And answer us, mono or bicolor?
PD: Again, sorry for my wrong English xDD
Well, if his focus is on {Thrumming Stone} + {Relentless Rats}, then he wants to get the Stone out ASAP. Once it's in play, it's almost game ending, so if he can get 2 dark rits + Stone on turn one, if he casts a Rat on turn three, it's game over.
If u get 4 stones, u actually get to look the top 16 cards? And do this cards look other cards too?

Hold on, I'll check Ripple.
Edit: Okay, so each instance of ripple will trigger separately. So, if you have a Stone in play, when you cast a {Relentless Rats}, you would first look at the top 4 cards. If you see any cards named {Relentless Rats}, you may cast them. When you cast THOSE rats, they each will ripple 4... and so on and so on.
Now, let's say you have two Stones in play (Lucky!). Cast a Rat. Each ripple will trigger one at a time. When the first trigger resolves, you look at the top four and cast and Rats you find. Say you find two and cast them. Then you would have 5 ripple 4s on the stack waiting to happen. You only ever look at four cards at a time, but you would do it many many times. Probably until you've cast every rat you own.
22 {Relentless Rats} in play = 22 23/23 creatures = 506 points of damage. Trample is not a big deal any more.

Right, I didn't think that xDD but it will be so good If it's a quasi full rentless deck.
Ripple it will keep reaviling until no rats are found. Because ripple triggers when u play a card, and ripple's effect lets u play it, not put on the field. So u will actually look for 4 more cards each time you cast another rat, being it by ripple or not. So this is huge combo
Actually 22 23/23, as it is 2/2 with +21/+21. This means 506 dmg. If not blocked, ofc. Or mass removed. U could play an {eldrazi monument} and no big worries

Thanks, I caught that too. Corrected!
I imagine the dmg a {Scalpelexis} played with 2 dark rituals and an island turn 2 would do to this deck. Mill one shoted
And as a reaction to a {Day of Judgement} or {Mass Clacify}, I have (and suggest you get) a play set of {Shattered Dreams}. When someone wipes the battlefield of my 20+ Rats, I usually reply with 'Thank you' and a trollish grin, then cast this card.
Problem, bro?
Why would shattered dreams help?
WHOA!!! I apologize!!! I meant {Shattered Crypt}! That's the one. Phew. (I gotta stop multitasking 5 things at once!)😜
I still like {Patriarch's Bidding} instead. :P
I got some of those in mine also, both of them scream 'RUN AT ME!!!'
Sorry guys I have been busy reading all of your ideas. It is very much appreciated. I'll be posting the deck as soon as possible. Also is there any way I can post the deck from my deck builder so I don't have to type it all out individually?

There should be a button named Gathering at the bottom of the cardlist when looking at the deck. Click it. It will post the deck under the appropriate section.
Please name the deck! (other than "Deck")
Oh oh!!! An even better reply to {Day of Judgement} spells than {Shattered Crypt} and {Patriarch's Bidding} that I forgot I had in there is {Haunting Misery}!
This card wiped the smirk off my victim ... I mean opponent's face many times after they killed all my rats, also winning me the games! I love my Rat deck! That's it, imma posting it when I get home!
I don't see a button anywhere that says gathering. I am gonna have to type it out I guess. Stupid iPhone.
Maindeck
4 {bojuka bog}
22 {swamp}
24 {relentless rats}
4 {dark ritual}
3 {thrumming stone}
1 {patriarch's bidding}
1 {no mercy}
1 {haunting misery}
Neat looking deck. You could add some removal, eg {Doom Blade}, {Fatal Blow} etc
And for future reference, the Fathering button is located at the bottom of the page between Mail and Add to Needed.
@Thattallguy Have you updates the app recently?
@Spikepit Is this only a Beta feature? Also, if your opponent does hit you with a {Sever the Bloodlines} or {Final Judgment} effect you're in trouble. Better kill them before they get a chance. Or a {Surgical Extraction} or {Cranial Extraction}. Ouch!
