60 cards, 0 sideboard
4 Buried Ruin
20 Swamp
24 lands
4 Phyrexian Crusader
4 Toxic Nim
3 Hand of the Praetors
2 Plague Myr
4 Ichorclaw Myr
4 Skithiryx, the blight dragon
3 Consume Spirit
2 Black Sun's Zenith
2 Throne of Geth
4 Doom Blade
4 Go for the Throat
What do you think?
I would add a forest splash cause there are lots of good forest cards with infect like {Phyrexian Hydra} or {Tangle Angler} or some artifact creatures with infect like {Core Prowler} or {Corpse Cur}
To save yourself destroying creatures, could you swap your {Throne of Geth} for {Contagion Clasp}?

Or toss in {Ichor Wellspring} and/or {Mycosynth Wellspring} to sac. The Clasp is good as well.
I've done g/b infect before and it wasn't as effective. The creature sac is useful because I normally don't use it until I have Skithiryx, crusader, and hand of the praetors out.. But I could sideboard the thrones and put clasps in.. Any ideas for a sideboard?
{Geth's Verdict} and {Grim Affliction} would be good for infect side board.
Thanks
Take out throne of geth, use some forests and run stuff like mutagenic growth and the vines of vastwood 2.0 from innastrad
Mutagenic growth is phyrexian mana so I don't need to run forests for them since they just cost 2 life and walls aren't useful enough in the deck since I can remove just about anything they throw at me. But I do intend to take out the thrones
Oh, having four copies of one legendary creature may not be the best idea

Maybe, but when it's in play it has a giant bullseye all over it. I wouldn't be upset drawing another one, unless the first one is stuck under a {Pacifism} or something.
Oh boy! Everyone is just rushing to pacify your skithirix! If u play another one, they both die! (srsly tho, you don't really need him to win, drawing multiple in one hand is a headache)

Wow! And here I thought I was the only one who knew about sarcasm. Ouch! Oh of course you don't
need it to win, but if you've already given your opponent at least two poision counters then if they don't deal with the dragon they're dead in two.
I'm so glad everyone wants to pacify the dragon :p there have been times with this deck where I won with hand of the praetors and 4 ichorclaw myrs. Besides Skithiryx is normally a late game play who gets the final poison counters in
Here's what you need to build a truly competitive mono black infect-
Drop 4 toxic nim for four plague stinger.
Drop 2 skittles and the 2 plague myr for 4 whispering specter. It's a very strong card.
2 black sun zenith is definitely the perfect amount (:
Drop the thrones and miscellaneous stuff, use 2 contagion clasps and 4 lashwrithe. Lashwrithe is among the best cards in the deck. Drop buried ruin for inkmoth nexus. Consider virulent wound keeping in mind you don't have to kill the creature with the spell, you can use it to ensure extra poison.
At least 2 trigon of rage.
Trust me, this is the best direction for mono black infect.

Is anyone else thinking 'Curly Brackets!!!'?
Here's the list that really dominates:
24 land
20 swamp
4 {Inkmoth Nexus}
Creatures
4 {Phyrexian Crusader}
4 {Plague Stinger}
4 {Whispering Specter}
2 {Skytherix, The Blight Dragon}
Artifacts
4 {Lashwrithe}
3 {Trigon of Rage}
2 {Contagion Clasp}
Other
2 {Black Sun's Zenith}
4 {Despise} (or distress)
4 {Doomblade}
3 {Go for the Throat} (or {Virulent Wound} up to you)
Just for future reference, tornado_:

Spikepit what did I do wrong ): I just want to help
Just so everyone knows I'm trying to keep my costs for this deck under $100 not trying to win nationals or anything. Just trying to win a few standard tournaments and possibly a higher up tournament. But I appreciate all of the help :) the inkmoth nexus isn't going to happen though. I'm not droppin $10 ea for 4 lands. I'd drop that kind of money on creatures instead.

Nothing wrong, as in 'you're in trouble now, Mister' but we just have to remember to make this forum accessible to the new players of MtG who don't know the cards by linking each card to the database so we can see your suggestions. It's all good, just crank out those curly brackets, it makes it easier for everyone in the long run.
That being said, great deck suggestions and I totally agree with your choices, especially the {Whispering Spectre}s! I might actually revisit my monoblack now. 😊
@Greg, inkmoth nexus is a creature, and very handy when you go through something like a {Day of Judgment} It's one of the better parts of the deck, and from the look of it, the only creatures you need for improvement are fairly inexpensive. Coming from an intense standard environment where there were a solid 8 mbi decks, 5 in the top 8, those are detrimental.
@spikepit, got em all! Except swamp. Doubt that's an issue. And yeah the specters are beautiful against control

Oh definitely. I'm not denouncing the power of skithirix, but the thing is, you don't want to draw him alot. One is enough, two is plenty, any more and it will suck for you
People run pacifism in standard?! What?!

No they dont... It's dumb.... Bad example
Check out Jacob Van Lunen's article, "Poisonous" for ideas on how to build thus archetype.
I love MBI. I would consider {Curse of Death's Hold} as potential sb card.
