I really like this app, and I understand there has been some issues with recent apple updates.
However, I am (still) running iOS 10 and it seems that I am affected by the update loop. I am paying for the monthly server fee (and happy to do so).
Is there anything else I could do, except perhaps re-installing the app (which I have been reluctant at due to the dropbox save feature being discontinued)?

You can backup via iTunes. Are you sure this is not due to a network glitch, and no longer affecting you?
