Dual lands. What's the point of the pacts if you can't reliably pay for them?

Nah, you don't want to give them a chance to counter a pact you made them cast. {Pact of the Titan} and {Summoner's Pact} are best in this application since they are not conditional and have a higher CMC.
I use {Nix} to counter my own pact after theirs resolves, but it shouldn't be necessary since they should be dead before your turn. You might want bounce to deal with {Platinum Angel}s if you run into them.
{Past in Flames} helps you flood them will more pacts than they can afford.
I was just about to dismantle my version, but now...
