My rendition of U/W StoneBlade.  Need some advice and opinions.  The creatures in the SB are the runners up that didn't not make the MB cut but are candidates for the SB.  Give me some input on what creatures to eliminate completely, add to MB, keep in SB, and so on please.

My main beaters are {Serra avenger} and I like {corelheim commander} in this as well since he will be easy to make as a 3/3 flyer as soon as he enters the BF.

{Enlightened Tutor}, top deck all of your goodies.

{Hallowed Fountain}, I'm in the process of purchasing them myself.

And anytime I see blue I think counter, I wonder how you'd stop all the board clears in the format.

Maybe sideboard some swords based on opponents? Seems like a lot to carry, even if you tutor them with {Stoneforge}. I'd add a {batterskull}.

This might sound crazy, what if you add { Mask of Avacyn} to protect Stoneforge?

That is one of my favorite creatures in the game but I was going with a 2 CMC theme so I can reap full advantage of {aether vial}.    And yes the Geist has a place in legacy.....what would you take out to add him?

Went 3-2 against Tier 1 net decks on Cockatrice so that is not too bad for the first spin.

I also made a few bad moves so gonna have to go through some growing pains til I can play the deck to its best potential.  *nothing worse than letting your opponent reap the reward from your own {standstill}

Yeah. You gotta have {Æther Vial} on the field or {Standstill} in your hand, use {Enlightened Tutor} to top the one you're missing, and use it to put creatures onto the battlefield. It totally rules.

Would you be okay if I used your deck as a model for my own rendering of this deck?

So I am thinking of taking out the {wastelands} and putting in {mutavaults}......if I do that then {crucible of the worlds} comes out and possible replace {Trinisphere} with {thorn of ameytheist}.  Will add another tutor in place of the crucible me thinks.

So far this deck does have trouble with early threats which is a problem for any competitive Legacy deck.  I tried to avoid {force of will}, {daze}, {spell snare}, and so on so I could rely on using the vial to place a {spiketail hatchling} or {spiketail drakeling} in play to counter but this method is too slow.  I only have the 4 {standstill} so I think I will just add the counterspells and just try to use my standstills wisely.

I changed it around some and it is doing much better with early threats.

Hey there, so here is my opinion on your deck. Sorry I could not get to it sooner as I was busy all weekend.

Your list

3 {Plains}
4 {Island}
2 {Reflecting Pool}
4 {Glacial Fortress}
4 {Flooded Strand}
4 {Mutavault}
]21 lands

3 {Mother of Runes}
2 {Thalia, Guardian of Thraben}
3 {Stoneforge Mystic}
4 {Spiketail Hatchling}
3 {Coralhelm Commander}
4 {Serra Avenger}
2 {Geist of Saint Traft}
21 creatures

3 {Swords to Plowshares}
3 {Spell Snare}
4 {Æther Vial}
4 {Standstill}
1 {Umezawa's Jitte}
1 {Sword of War and Peace}
1 {Batterskull}
1 {Thorn of Amethyst}
18 other spells

The first thing we need to look at is this, you are a control deck. 21 lands will not cut it. We need to up this number to 25-26. Adding some utility lands like {Karkas} to deal with Emrakul and {Wasteland} to deal with other utility lands (and for messing with your opponents mana base) is much advised. You will want 3 Wasteland and 1 Karkas without a doubt. Take out the Thorn of Amethyst and 3 Thalia for the lands. {Brainstorm} is a must for this deck. Remove all of the AEther Vials for a playset. Spiketail Hatchling needs to come out in favor for a playset of {Force of Will}. Take out all of the Standstills for 3 {Jace, the Mindsculptor} and 1 more Swords to Plowshares. Serra Avengers should be taken out for {Snapcaster Mage}s. Coralhelm Commander is not good. Try 2 or 3 {Vendillion Clique} instead. Take out Mother of Runes for 1 more Stoneforge and 2 Mana Leak, as this will give you more controlling options. War and Peace is fine, but I like Feast and Famine better for UW Stoneblade. Those are my recommendations. UW Stoneblade is a control deck and this list looks like your trying to play aggro. You want to gain control of the game and grind your opponent out with CA off of Jace and the Sword. Your initial list had cards that contradicted this strategy. You can splash a color if you want more card selection or a different syle of this deck. If you want me to tell you about more options or look at the SB just respond to this asking me to.
