Title: iMtG vs iMtG Plus vs iMtG U
Post by: Piotr on September 21, 2016, 07:22:32 AM
iMtG has three flavours from which you can choose:

iMtG (https://itunes.apple.com/app/imtg/id412798013?mt=8) is free for everybody and ships with Magic The Gathering data, to get Pokemons and other TCGs you can go to Settings -> Game and change to Any or Pokemon or else ;]
Updated database should download as you switch away from MTG only, free of charge.

iMtG Plus (https://itunes.apple.com/app/imtg-plus/id736075015?mt=8) is for shop owners and other adults. You have to be over 17 years old to download it.
It ships with Pokemon TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh! and the rest of supported TCGs by default and it has bigger app bundle size, so may or may not download over cellular network in your country, so you may have to use WiFi.

iMtG Plus the same as iMtG is free with optional in app purchases and iMtG Server subscription.

iMtG U (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/imtg-for-education/id1128096619?mt=8) is for schools and people who prefer to buy the app over unlocking optional in app purchases. In addition schools can save 50% when purchasing 2- or more licenses, as per current standard Apple App Store discount for education.

So now I'm allowed to use profanity on iMtG plus? Or are the forums all linked?

The forums are still linked and we keep our 'PG-9 or else' policy. Do not post to others what they would not want to have posted to them, please ;]

So how is plus supposed to be more adult oriented when it's the same forum?

Your assumption that profanity defines adulthood is false ;]

I'm going by guidelines much like movies do, PG-13; light cussing and light action, R- Profanity, Nudity, and such. But I still don't see a difference between flavors as far as 17+ only

One of the reasons why it is not the defining feature of Plus ;)

So then what is there to separate from regular iMtG? I want to be clear I'm not trying to argue or anything I just want to make sure I'm not missing any features out there.

It ships with Pokemons and the rest of supported TCGs by default and the same as iMtG is also free with optional in app purchases.

So the only standing feature is that you have access to all TCG immediately instead of having to go to settings to download them?

No, just the defining one. There may be other differences such as app icon and name, etc. ;)

At the moment Plus contains QRCodes module while iMtG still does not.

It seems a bit unnecessary to have so many versions of the same app in my own opinion, but it's not my work/art/property! I'm glad I understand now, thank you!

Perhaps this is because you do not belong to target groups of iMtG Plus or U. Enjoy your iMtG ;)
