Title: Elves
Post by: JaCe BeLeReN on April 30, 2012, 09:18:56 PM
Hey I am working on improving my deck making skills for various common types of decks (mill, beatdown, mana ramp, burn, and oh look ELVES) and I got to making an elf deck. I looked at all elves in the database and promptly freaked out. There are tons! So I want advice, where do I start? Good ideas? I do know I want to try to include {Garruk Wildspeaker} and {Helix Pinnacle}. Help!

I've seen helix work in commander, and myr decks, it can definitely be used as a win condition for elves, but they rarely need one, I'd go for {emrakul, the eons torn} as my win condition,

{lys Alana huntmaster} is nice for tokens and using {immaculate magistrate} for {jorga warcaller} not to mention if you have jorga treespeaker leveled up the tokens can produce mana

If going down the token and/or Helix counter route, {Doubling Cube}, {Doubling Season}, {Parrallel Lives}.

{doubling season} is so expensive cuz it doubles the amount of loyalty counters as PWs enter the BF

Piper let's you play creatures that can't be countered at instant speed. They come if for the attack and you drop a {Heedless One} as a surprise.
