Well they did say their goodbyes. So really they left and then their accounts got closed.

Did you net deck?

But honestly I think the difference between a good player and a guy that wins game day is knowledge of the game and meta.

I agree your adaptive capabilities and how you utilize your sideboard truly makes a good player shine.

For me, life just has been crazy busy.
Magic, Facebook and life vie for my every waking minute. So I've been lurking, trying to keep a clean house by sniping spam bots, getting sucked into Magic the Puzzling (which is a surprisingly fun game), still getting overflown with ideas for the craziest decks, keeping up with lore, podcasts, the forum.

You get my drift. Once I have settled in a rhythm, I'll likely be posting some more crazy tech & combo's.
As for competitive, I think too convoluted for that, but I can always give feedback on Taysby ;)

I've been on bw control since sorin came out, I've had my share of brews, but as a human I know I'm not infallible so I do browse and read other decks and articles and adapt things to my style.

I don't plan to be one and done though but I was just kinda of being a little facetious about being a good player just because I won game day. I also played a total of 4 gamedays this weekend and took a 3rd and 6th in addition to my first and a drop so I could make another.

Personally I have greatly cut back on Magic, only format I play is commander, but I used to play standard. But standard got really expensive for a time. (I had a really good deck(in testing) that cost ~800, this was back when there was fetchable lands) and I am not willing to spend more then about 100 for a commander deck. Like look at  {Liliana, the Last Hope} or any of half a dozen other cards. The format has grown to expensive for my taste.

Standard has been a waste of money for years now, this isn't anything new.

Not denying that. But it was worth it before(IMO) because of how fresh and changing the format was. Plus in the short run it is cheaper(or was).  Which is a lot friendlier to new players, who don't want to invest hundreds of dollars  and a game they just started playing

I would imagine it's fresh and changing even more so now with faster rotations

Standard is like the this: you're driving a scooter and you've only ridden a bike before: woooo it's fun

Standard when you have played legacy/modern is like this: you're driving a scooter and you used to drive a supercharged coupe.

I have fun with playing my preferred colors in standard (bug control) but wotc has barely given any love to that color combo. Abzan seems to be their current favorite, primarily {W} . It seems as if since theros has rotated, blacks been forced to go with white in order to succeed, but those two colors together end up being OP in constrat to others. Blue has been getting some crap lately, barely any mono color finishers for it

Kaladesh will bring us an artifact block, so I'm sure that will get old fast as there is currently a large lack of artifact hate

I can't believe how much I miss THS standard

Agreed, RtR through to DTK was a lot of fun, Origins with the loss of THS was when it really started to sag for me, BFZ killed it with the price and meta shift.

Nah man, innistrad rav standard was the best!
RTR-INN was a ton of fun. It was a pretty wide open format though, and that was also in the hay day of one of the best LGSs that we had, before it shut down right around Khans. It was just a good time to play.
