I have noticed we haven't had an update with promo cards in a while. Is that something we might see soon?
Yes. Historically the source of data for promos (or 'shinies' as some people call them) has been http://magiccards.info and they were quite impressive with the reliability of their updates. As you are probably aware, they are still missing the last expansion unfortunately, and the last FNM promo there is {Blighted Fen} as of today...
Any advice on what we should switch to? Would there be volunteers to update our database if we switch from magiccards.info to our local Gathering database via this interface: http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=card;mode=1;expansion=emn;name=Bloodhall%20Priest ?
As the last resort I'll pull this data from TCGPlayer soon(tm).
I would be willing to use the interface you posted to update the cards.

Not for adding new cards, but it should work for updating existing entries already.
I added code to my tools to pull FNM Promos and similar from TCGPlayer and should include these updates in Database Update 165.
