Title: Temple of the False Gods
Post by: Thanatos003 on July 26, 2016, 11:41:30 PM
Can I tap {Temple of the False God} for a colorless mans before I have five lands? Or does it only produce mana through it's stated effect?

Unless you have an effect that changes what the card does, (I.E. {Chromatic Lantern}) it only produces mana once requirements are met, which is why it says only.

{Chromatic Lantern} and  {Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth} are good work arounds for lands that have a requirement to tap or that don't tap at all. For example {Chromatic Lantern}  or  {Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth} +  {Eye of Ugin} nets you three mana towards any eldrazi (2 from the reduced cost + 1 from what the eye would tap for with chromatic or urborg out).

Thanks. I'd been told two different things about {Temple of the False God}. I'm guessing {Terramorphic Expanse} and {Evolving Wilds} are only good for saving then too.

The other two mentioned are only good for fetching basics, correct.

In general, the land does what is printed on it.
The only exception is lands with a basic land type (forest, mountain, swamp, island, plains). These are considered to have the ability to tap for the color of mana associated with that land type.
