Title: Omnath + Replication
Post by: mickeven on May 28, 2016, 04:45:54 PM
If I kick {Rite of Replication} targeting my {Omnath, Locus of Rage} does that equal 108 damage, or is there some legendary rule that prevents this?

Is only 90 damage.
5deaths x 6tiggers x3 damage per trigger.
Remember only 5 will die to the legend rule. One will still be chilling on the board.

The combo does work. I wanted to grab the main rule for this combo. Here it is.

704.5k (http://imtgapp.com/forum/index.php?action=imtg;area=rule;number=704.5k): If a player controls two or more legendary permanents with the same name, that player chooses one of them, and the rest are put into their owners' graveyards. This is called the "legend rule."

That's the State Based Action killing off the copies. As they all die at the same time, they see each other die.

thats what i thought. I wasnt sure if they were just "put into the graveyard"  as a special action, or if they actually died

If a creature is put in the graveyard from the battlefield, it dies.
