This will be my first time playing in an official tournament that's not 2 headed giant. Hoping for Planeswalkers, {Thing in the Ice} and for some unknown reason a foil {Avacyn, the Purifier} (looks so awesome). As far as the deck itself, B/R aggro is a comfort draft of mine that I tend to do very well with. I also really like werewolf tribal. I'll go where the cards take me.
Any must play cards? I feel like there aren't really any draft and win cards this set, which feels pretty exciting.
Going to have a good time, have fun with some new boosters. But I'll check the limited preview, could help me get over my usual match 1 wipe.

I feel this box would have taken me quite far.
I was pretty happy with how I did. Played Abzan humans and their lovely demon friend (shout out to {Mindwrack Demon}). I was able to use every rare I pulled, including my fancy shmancy Promo {Seasons Past}. Finished 3/0/1 and my tie was due to my opponent slow playing. 47 minutes for two games? Really? And we still had one more to go...
I don't even want to tell you how sad sunday made me
Like my partner couldn't come for two headed. So i take the only pick up, and I did a good deed because he was handicapped and it was fine, I read the cards and built both decks.
He dropped after the first round because he had to go home..
It was very depressing because i pretty much was playing the game solo.

Kaylesh, sorry you didn't get to go! Good pulls though. I saw one R/W aggro. It was good.
Fluffy, abzan humans, didn't see any of that. Seems pretty good, especially using all your rares. All of my games finished. Went into a game 3 with 8 minutes so my opponent and I played at hyper speed. My deck ran perfectly and it was insane.

So, my prerelease. Been putting off writing this as it was crazy and I've been super busy (my dad broke his leg, among other things)
Sit down, open promo foil {Sorin, Grim Nemisis}. I say "doesn't matter what happens now!"
Well. Two {Second Harvest}, {Bygone Bishop}, {Diregraph Colossus}, {Invocation of Saint Traft}, {Avacyn's Judgement}, {Hanweir Militia Captain}.
I had good removal in U/W and spirit synergy with {Apothecary Geist} and the bouncing guy. But i couldn't resist {Sorin, Grim Nemesis} and my play set of {Shamble Back} so I splashed black to go Esper.
Ended up 7-1-0 (assuming win loss draw)
My one loss was to U/W spirits. With mill. Just a strictly better version of my deck, I felt like. Got 0-2'd. I was tied with a bunch of people for 2nd, so we had a top three. Also in the top was my father, he was running U/W with {Startled Awake}. He'd been staying at the top of the leader board all day and came in at the tie for second. A family friend came in at 8th.
My first top 8 game was vs W/G aggro. It blew my mind first game and stomped me into the dust. My opponent wasn't untapping but swung creatures anyways. I was going to call him on it but the judge was literally right there...I brought back the next to games to make it through to the next round. My dad and friend lost and ended up out of the top 8. My dad at 6th and friend at 8th.
My next round was against the number one contender. I crushed him 2-0. I feel like his deck ran poorly, but he also misplayed by not pressing advantage. {(Unruly Mob} at 8/8 and he just let me draw into removal for example). I ended up sending him to 3rd. I feel like he was a bit salty, but he shook my hand and said good game after.
Last games against B/R aggro. First game was slow. I won with flying and timely removal. Next game I take a risky hand. And we both end up mana screwed and discarding cards. When the game got off the ground he kept letting me trade up into his creatures and win. He'd enchant a creature then block and end up trading and enchanting another creature instead of sitting and buffing past mind.
MVPs {Sorin, Grimm Nemesis} and {Sleep Paralysis}.
So I took first. 9 packs, a plaque with a promo foil {Elusive Tormentor} and the 6' something cardboard Avacyn cutout. Yeah. They gave it to me and it's in my dining room. xD
Only mythic was Sorin. Foil {Beneath the Floorboards} was best prize pull. Gave it to a friend. xD Nothing impressive that I know of. No TITI, no Abby. Nothing...
I didn't get anything that good, but promo Tireless Tracker and I also got a sweet foil From Under the Floorboards
