Check lands vs filter lands.

You have acces to both. Which is better and why? Is one better for 2 color decks or 3 colors. Just trying to get other point of views. Thanks.
I prefer checks. Both are bad without other lands, but checks aren't useless by themselves. That being said filters are faster when they work.
Just looking more for examples of how you see them different.
I think fast lands are the best {Razorverge Thicket}
To answer the question depends on your manabase if you're running shocks I think checks are better bc you don't have to use 2 lands for 2 mana at once.
ex. T1 steam vents T2 cascade bluffs you have a spell snare and serum visions in hand. What do you do?
