The indexing needs to be unique, yet there seem to be the same collector's number on both versions of basic land in BFZ. Perhaps we should add BFZE?

I would just add an (a) to the non full art lands.

Then you would not be able to track both, as a and b thing is for the same piece of cardboard. So when you sent quantity for a it changes for b too.

I was suggesting not having an a and  b. I was suggesting have a card marked 274 and 274a, I am not sure how your DB would treat that thought.

It would cause the same problem. So either we wait for the next version in the App Store to handle silly lands (I'm moving this forward, fixed a number of significant iOS9 problems over the last couple of weeks.) or split the expansion?

I wanted to point out that looking back on the original Zendikar block there's a similar issue. The lands are all in there but the image has no differentiation.
