Title: Rite of Replication+Awaken
Post by: mickeven on January 29, 2016, 11:37:22 PM
If I cast a kicked  {Rite of Replication} targeting a land that has been awakened (and is now a creature with 3 +1/+1 counters) I get 5 token lands of the same type as the original but with no counters, correct?

Would the 5 lands die since they are a 0/0 créature ?

No. They're not creatures they're just lands.

No, it has to do with what attributes are copied.

706 reads, in part, "The copiable values of an object are its name, mana cost, color indicator, card type, subtype, supertype, rules text, power, toughness, and loyalty. These values are usually copied exactly as printed. However, copy effects do respect changes to those values resulting from other copy effects, face-down status, and some effects that set a creatures power or toughness. The last are only considered if they have the wording "as [the object] enters the battlefield" or "as [the object] is turned face up"."

Being activated or being animated by some other effect isn't copiable.

Right.

The effect that makes the land a creature isn't copiable. Neither are the counters.

If you {Drown in Sorrow} and then {Clone} a {Hooting Mandrills} is your mandrill a 2/2 or 4/4?
