Is there a way to make slivers faster? I'm having trouble picking up speed with my sliver deck comprised of most From The Vault slivers along with the newer ones
If your in need of some better or more slivers I have a sliver commander deck I built thy I can piece out if your interested in
If you really want to be a jerk, make sure to throw a couple {sliver hivelords}'s in there, and a slew of counterspells like my friend has. I use the term friend lightly now....
I have all these but I'm still getting slaughtered at my local modern tourneys. I was hoping there would be a different approach I could take without having to give up on my favorite deck!
I'm not sure if slivers CAN be quick enough for modern FNM to be honest. If you want to go tribal I'd say goblins of merfolk.
It hurts me to say, because I love them.
I know my roommate is a Merfolk user so I can see how much better they are but I guess I'll go back to my soldier deck!
Hard to say without knowing what you're running... Do you use {Æther Vial}? Also maybe {Descendants' Path}.

Sadly as a college kid those vials are a bit out of my budget! Path on the other hand has been purchased immediately!!
If you gotta cry about budget
Then you can't cry about how your deck is slow

I'm willing to spend money but 40 dollars for a card is high for me so excuse me if I look for other options besides the vials.

easy killer, he was only asking what he could do to improve his deck to speed it up... no need to be mean
I was going to say something along these lines. He said "what can I do?" We said "this" he said "can't afford that currently" you said "then shut up". Not necessary, and not helpful. You could have simply explained that Modern is a competitive format and it takes money to compete. Not this you have no right to complain crap.
Anyways, back to the topic at hand,
Slivers is a pretty underwhelming deck. It's worth it to save up some money and buy {Æther Vials}. They will hold value and they will be useful as long as people want to play creatures (so forever).

I would recommend {Sinew Sliver} making a Naya colored Sliver deck. There's a green counterpart as well. Also...
{Ghostway} {brave the elements} {dawn charm} and stuff could help protect your guys a bit. There is that one ally that gives your guys indestructible that could work... and the sliver that gives it as well. Descendants path is a huge recommendation from me tho
since it is a creature heavy deck I think it'll be a perfect fit! Descendants path that is!

Also, in my experiences the best sliver abilities to give is first strike. It can really hurt defensive plans and break offensive ones. A 3/3 with first strike is gonna kill something 9 times out of 10. I forget who it is, but get the first strike sliver. . {Talon Sliver} maybe?
{Striking Sliver} and I've got a few copies!

Hey being direct isn't being mean, it's just truth. You want a faster car than your Kia? Should get an Infiniti.
You can trade/save etc & if you ask folks what's gonna help and then say I can't do that, well then your deck is gonna be as is
Lots of people improve their decks over time. Looking for economical fixes shouldn't be frowned upon. Vials are an excellent way to improve the deck, but there may be more budget friendly options as well. It gives him a goal to work towards, but is there help in the short term?

Descendants path is excellent and very overwhelming in edh
Channel fireball has a pretty nice looking slivers deck
The sliver that gives poison counters....I forget the name..is good to go Aggro to the face ESPECIALLY since it stacks (play one turn one. Play two more urn two, and you got for 3 poison turn 2, 9 MORE poison turn 3)
Listened to drive to work today. Episode called 2013. Maro brought up slivers from magic 2014 and talked about how the mechanic that it affects only owner they liked. But they got bad response about the way they looked. He then goes on to say that they will go back to old way they looked. Then back stepped and said we haven't seen the last of slivers.
More slivers? Yessssssss! Maybe the block after innastrad? Fingers crossed.
Edit. So I looked at the slivers from m15 compared to the old to see the different styles and came across {venom sliver}. Ans it's flavor text got me thinking. If poison arrows the slivers can adapt to and make into their own weapon, what would we get if a sliver hive came across the eldrazi? Would they be able to adapt? And if so how?
