Post by: mickeven on January 03, 2016, 12:31:11 PM
How come the Vivid lands (i.e.  {Vivid Crag}) dont see more play over basics in Modern and Legacy? Are there any downfalls Im missing?

Enters tapped. The second reason is they can't be fetched out

It took me a long time to convince my friend that they were useless in a mono white deck. Then he splashed red (very lightly) and like your friend, had {vivid meadow} in there but no {boros guildgate} or the boros temple or gainland whose names escape me at the moment.

It taps for both colors! A guildgate is infinitely better!!!!!!!
I thought I'd never see this line of text ever. But you're absolutely right. In a two-color deck GG>Vivid.

You can only run one wedge. You can run three vivids. They feel pretty good to use but I've always been a budget manabase kinda guy.

Vivids are best used in conjunction with cards like {Reflecting Pool}, where they will let Reflecting Pool tap for WUBRG even if they don't have any counters.
