Auras with Enchant Creature are, while on the stack, spells that Spellskite can redirect.

I thought so, it just felt like I was cheating. I finally put some in a random deck, and it was a game stopper for my friends decks

You can pay the mana/life but the target won't change since the new target is illegal.

Similar to attempting to redirect {Boros Charm}.

Is there ever a situation where doing that would yield some positive result?

I can foresee a turn where you {mindslaver} an opponent and then force them to pay phyrexian life targeting the activation of, let's say a {bloodstained mire}, (since {spellskite} can target any ability even one without a target) over and over again causing them to pay all their life. But not really relevant in general.

If you want to lower your life total some for something like Faithful Hour ({Timely Reinforcements})
