so i just joined the forums and got back into magic and after going through cards from the new sets (stopped around KoT-FR) and i think i want to go with something like mono black for standard using cards such as:
{despoiler of souls}
{drana, liberator of malakir}
{graveblade marauder} maybe?
{grim haruspex} also maybe?
Possible even splashing green for cards like {evolutionary leap} {beastcaller savant} {catacomb sifter} and that 1 mana green creature that transforms into bigger creatures, i also for some reason really like possibly a 1 of {brood butcher} if it proves to help late game?
My biggest worry in creating this deck would be {languish} as im not sure if there is anything which combats it or counters it. And as im not too sure of the meta i was also wondering what else i should prepare to have troubles against.

You may want to check out the bfz event deck. It runs ok out of the box. But it is an interesting green and black deck. Played it a few times and gives you a few options.
