i want to get into modern as standard is expensive and i have to buy a new deck every x amount of time. I built from my not very extensive collection ( i started playing just before khans of tarkir came out) the following deck: Mono-White tokens
Main board:
2 captain of the watch
2 abzan battle priest
2 high sentinels of arashin
2 court street denizen
3 dromoka captain
2 veteran swordsmith
2 abzan falconer
2 ainok bond kin
3 vanguard of brimaz
3 topan freeblade
2 veteran armorsmith
2 dictate of heliod
2 congregate
3 murder investigation
2 spirit bonds
2 raise the alarm
2 celestial flare
18 plains
4 evolving wilds
sideboard
2 aegis of the gods
2 brave the sands
3 gods willing
2 ajanis presance
4 sunlance
i notice that its not the best but its the best i can build from my small collection. i am willing to go B/W tokens. The deck synergises well with +1 +1 counters to at best X X flying lifelinking first striking creatures. i am on on $50-$60 budget, any ideas to improve this deck? I need it to be able to win at a modern event such as ( i dont know if this is a thing but) modern FNM

This list will get moved eventually but if you want to move into modern you will need to invest into it. Even the white weenies decks need some powerful cards to keep them going like 4x {Æther Vial} and 3-4 {Path to Exile}. You may need to consider saving up some cash and buying these cards.
If you go the BW tokens route {Intangible Virtue} and {Lingering Souls}

Prplprince isn't quite right though. To be able to compete in modern, you need to shell some cash into your deck. The good thing is it will not be as expensive to maintain your deck, as you can keep what you have most of the time.

That's what I meant 😅. Once you buy 4x {Æther Vial} you can build a few other decks. Same goes for the fetch lands or shock lands

BW Tokens in Modern can be very cheap. It's a great deck to start in modern bc you can start with a cheap shell then over time you can make it better through small additions :D
Here's a sample cheap list:
Token Producers: 12 = $4.60
4 {Lingering Souls} 60¢ best card in the deck
4 {Spectral Procession} 30¢ 2nd best card
4 {Raise the Alarm} 25¢ great card
Creatures: 6 = $18.60
4 {Doomed Traveler} 15¢ optional but good
2 {Hero of Bladehold} $9 VERY good though (optional but suggested)
Pump Spells: 6 = $5
4 {Intangible Virtue} 25¢
2 {Honor of the Pure} $2
Planeswalkers: 2 = $12
2 {Sorin, Lord of Innistrad} $6 (optional but good)
Other Spells: 12 = $40.30
2 {Read the Bones} 15¢
2 {Murderous Cut} 40¢
4 {Zealous Persecution} 80¢
4 {Path to Exile} $9 expensive but amazing (can replace with {Doom Blade} type cards)
Land: 22
12 {Plains}

= $80.50 so over budget but you can easily replace some of the expensive cards :D

Also just wanted to add that shocks and fetches are optimal, but pain lands ({caves of koilos} in this case) is a great cheap alternative to fetch lands until you can afford to buy them or trade for them. If you cannot get your hands on {godless shrine}s you can try a few {isolated chapel} or even the B/W land from the new cycle that I assume will be printed in oath of the gatewatch. Not optimal but probably better than just running basics in most situations.
the deck matto19 suggested is very good, and if u don't care about the conditions of cards, then u can probably get it for about 60$
See this is how we should assist others in making their decks stronger for the format, not just shuffling off things we don't consider decks into casual
