so I was playing modern last night, anyways I was playing Goblin Aggro vs U/W Control. Turn 3 my opponent had 2 {Hallowed Fountain} tapped and a {Windswept Heath} otb. So I drop a {Blood Moon}, it resolves. Next turn he taps the fountains for Snapcaster Mage, and I told him "Dude those fountains are now only mountains, you can cast Mage". He disagreed and called the judge and the judge sided with the other player. WTF
Yeah thats a total bullshit call.
Make sure you contact the judge and make sure they understand their error. If not, contact wizards.

Lol l1 judge?
I'm pretty surprised. When I ran for Rules Advisor there was a question in my exam concerning Blood Moon, and I've seen it in practice exams for L1 a couple of times as well.
Should be clear to any judge how the staples of the format you're judging work.
Friend with the judge? Got him to rule in their favor?

Here's another question. How does moon work against Fetchlands. Does it kill the ability to pay and search

It becomes a "mountain" so it can no longer fetch once blood moon has resolved.

Important thing is "once it resolves". You can fetch basics in response to someone casting BM
I think the judge doesn't know the difference between sub types. Plains can sometimes be basic lands but aren't always a basic land.
