Title: PT Battle for Zendikar & top 8 coverage
Post by: Mattao19 on October 17, 2015, 01:10:13 AM
I've been stuck on a bus for the past 5 hours and will be for 5 more can anyone tell me what's happening? Any cool decks? Who's winning?

Thanks :D

Damn that's a long bus ride. UB aristocrats is apparently a real deck with whirler rogue and nantuko husk. Esper control has shown several appearances, piloted by reid duke and patrick Chapin. Nothing super crazy revealed yet. Brandon burton, a man with cerebral palsy is one of the four 6-0 drafters over the course of the weekend and is in top 8 contention, he plays with his mother holding his cards and maneuvering them for him. It's a really great story, wizards has the story published on their site, I'd recommend checking it out.

I hate that topics like this are always moved to events. As far as I know, no one on this app is planning on meeting up at the pro tour. It's the effin pro tour it belongs in discussion. End rant.

Saw some sweet matches during slower periods at work. Lots of great magic. Can't wait for top 8.

The protour is an event.

I'd rather this discussion not get lost in discussion. I like the pro tours and they are very informative of the new meta.

If this world was perfect we'd have updates of what's playing and who's winning while it goes on, because then we get eArlier insight of the next cards to nab before a price jump

I posted in discussion so we could discuss the Top 8 I didn't post it in events because I'm not attending the top 8 (sadly)

You don't have to attend an event to discuss it

Yeah, my understanding from the three or so years I've been on here is that the reason there's a separate events thread is for people to discuss meeting up/playing in events. It's never been the thread to discuss decks or card choices from a particular event.

If the events section is just "any discussion of a magic event" then I'm not sure it's really even necessary and it could just be collapsed under MtG Discussion.

Well said!

I wonder if {sarkhan, dragon speaker} will push past current price range of $5

He's a 1 of in at least 3 decks in the top 8

The struggle for Canada is real.

Surprised takimura pulled through so well with only 4 mana

I disagree. Events could be both a meet-up platform and a discussion platform on events. It's win-win really.
Discussions on running events get more spotlight instead of getting lost in general discussion, and the event subforum gets more activity, drawing more people to it.
