I hope your team wins. I don't follow baseball.

Off topic but... GO WINGS!!! Who know we'd have two Datsyuk this year? Dylan Larkin FTW!

Let's kick it back to PG9, ok?
I know, sports, fans, refs ruining it.
We've seen casualties here in Europe over soccer, let's keep it polite here..

I want to preface this by saying that im a dodgers fan, so even though im trying to be objective i know some people wont think that i am.

Utley didnt do anything wrong. Both him and tejada were doing what they thought they needed to do to benefit their team. Tejada put himself in an awkward position while trying to make a near impossible play, and utley slid late trying to break up the double play. Utley did what players have been doing for 100 years, including this season, and its always been acceptable to the umpires. He did slide late and an unfortunate injury resulted from the positions of both players, and its probably fair that utley got suspended, but he never had any intention of hurting the guy and doesnt deserve to be condemned for it. In fact, if tejada had got to his feet and kept playing we probably wouldnt even be having this conversation.

As far as him being on second base is concerned, that was always the correct decision. The umpires made a judgment call to say that it wasnt interference, and as soon as they did that there was no other possible outcome, as interference rulings are not reviewable. It probably should have been interference, but as soon as it isnt then utley needs to be put back on second base as per the rules.

And as far as that play costing the mets the game, they were up by 1 in the 7th inning with the dodgers already starting to get hits off their bullpen. Anyone who thinks that amounted to a guaranteed win for the mets, especially in the playoffs, is even more biased than I am. There was still a lot of time to go in that game, anything could have happened.

Thank you for listening :)

I stopped reading after "Utley didn't do anything wrong" when every analyst on tv calls it a TACKLE you know something's up.

As a player I agree take out SLIDES are apart of the game but in takeout slides they still at least touch the bag. Nothing against the Dodgers but Utley is scum and he knows it

As long as you are near enough to the basepath to reach the bag it is a legitimate slide if you hit the ground first (which utley did), and it doesnt connect with the defending player above the knee (which it didn't). It was late, and that it why he got suspended and im not arguing that. Im just saying its unfair to condemn utley when tejada was also responsible for the position he was in.

Im not a fan of utley, im not trying to defend his actions im just saying he isnt the only one reaponsible.

Any met would have, and should have, done the same thing. It was just unfortunate the positions they ended up in.
