whos ready!!?!?
Anybody have any strategies!?
I'm most likely going to try to blue and green scions to get the biggest beasties on the board but we shall see what I pull
Mod: edited name as to be more appropriate to thread topic.
IM READY! I have no idea what I'll play and I barely reviewed the spoilers. Imma play whatever looks good in my pool.
Thats today?
Fml stupid homework
Tomorrow, and midnight tonight
:o
If you get {undergrowth champion}
Please think of me
I have some reallllly nice things I'm saving for trade

And if you get a walker remember your local llama (and ill happily pay for it in bronze sables)
If I get on nix he's all yours
I'm going to offer "services" in the restroom for full art fetches
Almost top 8ed with ..... {Prism Array} no joke ... Lol such a bad card but also a very okay card lol I pulled 2 so I saw my pool literally said eff this bc I opened 💩 and said eh screw it so I had a 47 card 5 colour deck with tons of removal (no wraths though :()
All in all fun midnight release but ya {Prism Array} sooooo meh lol it was sweet when I got to do it for 5 untap and scry 3 lol :D
Originally ran a green blue ramp eldezi scion deck and it ran horrible so I splashed in whites removal and made a mid range deck with the 7 drop angel chick. Did a lot better than what I had but I went 3-3. Oh well, I'll do better in the next one.
My prerelease starts in 5 minutes. I'll see how it goes.
R/G Landfall went 8-5. With {Oblivion Sower} usually being the wincon, for 2-3 bonus landfall triggers.
Noteables: {Sire of Stagnation}, {Part the Waterveil}
Pulled an Ulamog, got him out in 5 out of my 9 games playing Junk ramp/ally. 4 out of those 5 I won.
The 5th I played Ulamog and exiled his board, swung with my other dudes and put him to 1.
He played the red borrow a dude card, swung Ulamog at me and exiled my 15 card library.
I was sad.
Went 3-0-1
Got third oblivion sower was mostly wincon also and flyers
Got three tango lands
:000000000000000000
32 people at my midnight prerelease, 3 expeditions.
Steam Vents
Sacred Foundry
Windswept Heath
I managed to get none of them.
32 at the one I went too also 2 expeditions pulled a heath and a stomping grounds
Jeez just found out a friend got two deltas in pool and prize packs. So sad I missed out due to meeting capacity last night.
So in my prerelease box the bfz pamphlet was in Spanish....
My 2 Headed Giant event starts in a half hour...bring on the expeditions :D
I didn't get to go. My shop was turning people away after 140 people
I pulled a blood crypt and promo Gideon in the pre-release event I'm competing in right now! Woo!!!
My second prerelease I pulled an Ulamog and... That's it.
Crappy deck leads to me losing every game.
Got newlamog and didn't even play him. Went red white allies, had double strike guy, trample guy, and two Monda's. Went 3-1 with my only loss being to mana screw. No exped's but lots of people around me got 'em. That just means (hopefully) that they're in my two Russian boxes to be cracked next week.

I thought they were only avail. in english boxes? Or are they in russian boxes but printed in english?
All boxes, but they're all English.
I ended up playing Naya allies, and was undefeated the first three games. Then my concentration started to slack. I ended up in eleventh place out of 37 and pulled a {Gideon, Ally of Zendikar} and {Smoldering Marsh} out of my prize packs and a {Void Winnower} and {Cinder Glade} out of my pool. It was fun, and it was also my first prerelease and sealed event!
I pulled crap. In 2 prereleases. Think lgs over 3 prereleases had about 110 players. I believe 11 expeditions opened.
Got a {Void Winnower} promo, and my best pull was a reg {Canopy Vista}. Got a few of the other rare Eldrazi and the rest was mostly crap. the guy next to me pulled a verdant catacombs and a Gideon. I passed the box down to him. I should have held on to his box lol
Pulled an expedition windswept Heath as well from a prize pack 🙈

Bruh
3-0-1 in the two headed as well ! Boom
So far kiora , foil Drana, reg Drana, 2 oblivion sower
7 tango lands
Black white man land etc
Also pulled an ulamog, the new menfolk that's blue white rare, 2 ugin insight, 2 extra turn blue spells, 2 sunken hollows, 1 ally encampment, 1 ugin nexus
Judged one event, picking up 20 packs in Comp next week. Roommate went 3-0-1 to win 6 packs and nabbed an Arid Mesa out of one of them.
They gave me 3 of my 7 for the 2 headed I get the other four next as iou
I got crappy pulls, as usual. My promo was the black 3 mana sorcery with converge. Sooo bad.
Went 2-0 then had to leave, got two packs. Nothing good.
May go do a 2hg tonight
My prerelease pool was absolutely stupid. I only went 1-2-1 with it, but just look at this BS!

The Kiora is foil. I also got a second promo in my box, but it wasn't good.
I mean you made your cost back with kiora and the sunken
Terrible pull, went 3-1 and got 2nd, got more crap
Went 1-3 pulled lantern scout foil forest undergrowth champion serpentine spike foil retreat to valakut sire of stagnation 2 brutal expulsion black red new land.

3 mana draw 3 lose 3 is bad?
Better than the promo and 2 regular {Prism Array} (aka potentially the worst card in magic)
Griffin my pool had 2 {Prism Array} in it so I said eff it I'll try it for fun.
My deck was 47 cards (again I said eff it and kinda gave up on it) here's an unofficial list lol:
2 {Prism Array}
7 creatures
18 land
A couple cool converge cards (the draw X, and the tokens one)
1 3 mana rampant groth card
1 3 mana birds of Paradise
The rest: Removal.
I went 3-2-1 the draw I should've won but my opponent slow played the last few turns and its a pre release so I wasn't gunna call a judge.
The deck was really solid and if you have enough good removal and some decent bombs (I had that annihilater dude) and prism array was actually good to stall and then keep scrying 3. Now I'm not saying it was OP or anything but damn it surprised me (and my opponents)

No way in hell Prism Array is worse than {Search the City}, {Great Wall}, or {Sorrow's Path}.
Dude, sorrows path needs a professor and scribe to just decipher what the hell is going on there lol

You think that's complex? Look at {Ice Cauldron}. I could tell you what it does in summary, but can you figure it out by reading the card?
{sorrow's path} portal edition:
{T}: Switch two blocking creatures your opponent controls. The resulting block must still be legal.
Whenever Sorrow's path becomes tapped, it deals 2 damage to you and each creature you control.
(Well, portal used intercept as word for blocking, but you get the idea).

LOL.
{ice cauldron}
{T}: you may cast a spell onto Ice Cauldron. This spell cannot be countered by effects that counter spells.
As this spell is cast, exile it.
Use this ability only if no spell is currently exiled by Ice Cauldron.
{T}: put the mana used to cast the spell exiled with Ice Cauldron into your mana pool. Use this mana only to cast the spell exiled with Ice Cauldron.
You put the spell on ice...
(Yeah, clunky wording, I know)

Not quite right. You could pay 0, or a lot more than needed into it, you'd just have to actually pay for the spell when you activate the 2nd ability
Oops. I reread the card after your comment you are totally right. X does not have to be equal to the casting cost. Not sure where I got that.

Not even. You could float the mana off the Cauldron and then have it fizzle.
But, yes. Ice Cauldron is a down payment. You put a spell and some mana to cast it into the cauldron, and then later you can take the spell and the mana out of the cauldron to finish paying for it.
Some other interesting things about Ice Cauldron:
1) If Cauldron gets blown up, you can still cast the spell you put on ice. You'll just have to pay all of the mana up front because the mana you put into the cauldron is now gone.
2) You can put X spells into the cauldron to decent effect. A friend of mine who loves playing with Ice Cauldron has used it to cast {Genesis Wave} for 30ish.
Ice Cauldron also does weird things with {Mana reflection}... Or {Rings of Brightheartb} if you have a way to untap Cauldron.

I don't really get the rings combo. Exile two, pay once. But whenever you use the second ability, you have to choose either. Since it's a mana-ability, you can't copy it. And you cannot use the second ability without counter.
EDIT: I'm an idiot. You put a counter on it as effect. So you end up putting two...

And after you add a second counter, you could basically tap it for double if you have a way to untap it.
Ah, yeah. Float the mana, untap.
