so I was playing a friend of mine earlier today and this is how it went down
I was playing Gruul Ramp. So all I had on the field was 11 mana, 2 {Hardened Scales}, 1 {Hammer of Purphoros} and 1 {Birds of Paradise}.
So I tap bop for another bop, it gets countered, I play {Summoning Trap} and bring out {Colosus of Akros} tap 10 mana to make him monstrous, then the scales kicked in and let the fun begin

I bet your opponent really regretted countering your Bird..
