Well the next step is to genetically engineer Pokemon to be fleshed out living things.

Boss:why were you late to work?
Me: a pikachu jumped in front of my car, and I hit it, and had to take it to the Pokemon center.
Boss: do you still have it?
Me:yeeeeah I was gonna look for the owner
Boss:trade it to me for a magikarp or you're fired.
